Choose a MOV file and click Convert to MP4: you get an MP4 with H.264 video, the format that plays on Windows, Android, smart TVs and every website. If the video is already H.264 it is copied without re-encoding, so there is no quality loss. Your video never leaves your device.

How to use the MOV to MP4 Converter

  1. Choose or drop your MOV video (WebM and MKV work too).
  2. Click Convert to MP4.
  3. Download the MP4 when the progress bar finishes.

Why iPhone videos often won't play elsewhere

With the camera's “High Efficiency” setting, iPhones record video in HEVC (H.265). Many Windows PCs, older Android phones and websites can't play HEVC. This converter turns it into H.264, which plays everywhere. H.264 files are usually somewhat larger than HEVC — if you need a smaller file, compress the MP4 afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The video is processed inside your browser and never leaves your device, so it is safe for private videos.

Will the quality drop?

If the MOV already contains H.264 video, it is copied as is — no quality loss and very fast. HEVC (H.265) video from newer iPhones is re-encoded to H.264 at high quality.

Is the sound kept?

Yes. The sound is kept as AAC where your browser supports it, which is the standard audio format for MP4.

Why does it take a while?

The video is re-encoded on your own device, using its hardware video encoder where available. Long, 4K or high-frame-rate videos take longer, especially on phones. The progress bar shows how far it has got, and you can cancel at any time.

Which browsers work?

Recent versions of Chrome and Edge work best, on computers and Android phones. Recent Safari and Firefox work in most cases. If your browser can’t process video, the tool tells you instead of failing silently.
