How to use the India e-Visa Photo Tool

  1. Upload a photo taken against a plain white wall.
  2. Drag and zoom so the face is centred, the top of the head touches the top line and the chin is in the green zone.
  3. Download the 600×600 px JPG and upload it on the Indian e-Visa website.

The Indian e-Visa photo must be a square JPEG between 350 × 350 and 1000 × 1000 pixels, with a file size from 10 KB to 300 KB, in colour, full face and front view with eyes open, on a plain white background.

This tool saves a 600×600 px JPEG and keeps it under 300 KB automatically, so it meets both the dimension and file-size rules.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Your photo is cropped and saved inside your browser and never leaves your device.

Why is my photo rejected on the e-Visa website?

Usual reasons are a photo that isn’t square, a file over 300 KB or under 10 KB, a dark or patterned background, or a face that isn’t centred. This tool fixes the shape and file size.

Can this tool remove or change the background?

No. It crops and sizes your photo exactly. Take the photo in front of a plain white or light wall so the background is already correct.
