Type a link or text — or fill in Wi-Fi, email or phone details — and the QR code appears instantly; download it as PNG (up to 2048 px) or SVG for print. These are static codes: the data is stored in the code itself, so they never expire and need no account.

How to use the QR Code Generator

  1. Choose what the code should do: open a link, join Wi-Fi, write an email or call a number.
  2. Fill in the details — the QR code updates as you type.
  3. Optionally change colours, size or error correction, then download PNG or SVG and test-scan it with your phone.

Error correction levels

LevelCan recoverUse for
Low (L)About 7% damageScreens, small codes
Medium (M)About 15%Most uses (default)
High (Q)About 25%Printed codes that may get scratched
Highest (H)About 30%Codes with a logo on top, outdoor print

Higher error correction makes the code denser, so keep it at Medium unless you need more.

Tips for codes that always scan

  • Use a dark colour on a light background — many phones can't read light codes on dark backgrounds.
  • Keep the quiet zone (the empty border) — scanners need it to find the code.
  • For print, choose SVG or the 2048 px PNG, and print at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 in).
  • Always test-scan with a phone before printing many copies.

Static vs “dynamic” QR codes

Some sites sell “dynamic” codes that point to their own short link — they stop working if you cancel the subscription. Codes made here are static: the link or text is inside the code, so they work forever. The trade-off: to change the destination, you make a new code.

Frequently asked questions

Is anything uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed in your browser, so your files and text never leave your device.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes — the content is stored in the code itself, with no tracking link in between, so they keep working forever.

Can I use the QR code commercially?

Yes. The codes you create are yours to use on menus, posters, packaging, business cards and anywhere else.

How much text fits in a QR code?

Up to about 2,900 characters of plain text at the lowest error correction, but shorter is better: short links make smaller codes that scan faster.
